RE:Los Angeles Authority Housing etc

8/28/2010

I called Friday about my status and still on waiting list as it has been two years. I asked why. She said UNTIL HUD releases funds to us we have no money to move people up the list on. So HUD has to do with section 8 housing, any authority housing you will have to wait till funds are available..

WAITING LIST, WAIT IN LINE AND JUST PLAIN WAIT- EVERYPLACE HAS ONE!

As I look for things for people on line or in one's daily life there is always a waiting list involved.

You wait for housing, senior programs, doctor's appointments, dermatologist visits(my favorite that takes three hours to get check for skin cancer and if you have it, you get to come back to wait for another three hours),wait in line to get tickets for a concert, wait in line for gas and groceries. Let me not forget the dentist office while we wait to get xrayed, get the novacaine shot then wait for him to come back to do the dental work and hopefully you don't need a crown as you have to come back for that too. You wait on the phone for a human voice screaming I want a human being, agent or representive till the automated system clicks that you want to talk to a human being.

Or even when we were kids going on vacation how much longer do we have to wait till we get there?? My mom before she even went on a vacation after dad passed on would say, I can't wait to get back home and she hadn't even left yet which would crack me up.

I could go on. Even my cat has to wait for his vet's visits and if I am busy I tell my cat to wait!

I am amazed when I look for things for people there is a waiting list. I wonder how much of our lives that we have spent waiting for someone or something???

Does anyone have their on wait stories to add to the wait list? I am waiting for your answer.

About badri

My niece has a congenital heart defect and she is in need of open heart surgery. She is 19 years old and she lives with her parents. She is the third from the oldest of 8 children, the youngest sibling being 3 years old. After she began having chest pains, her doctor told her that she needs to have surgery immediately or she risks having heart failure and possibly dying. Her mother is a homemaker, and her father's earnings are not enough to feed the whole family. She was going to college but she has to stop because of symptoms the congenital heart defect is now causing. She has chest pains and gets short of breath even with a little exertion. She is a courageous young lady and she hopes to get a chance to get the surgery, medications, and other treaments afterwards. Her father does not have health insurance for an expensive surgery such as this. Please help her and save her life. This is the only hope her family has since the doctor told her she will need at least $20,000 for the open heart surgery alone. Otherwise, the hole in her heart is getting bigger. Without it her prognosis is dim. Thank you for your assistance and for hearing our plea.
